Hibu or Ninewave: what you see before you sign.

The short answer

Hibu doesn't publish a price, and its terms say Hibu owns the intellectual property in its services. With Ninewave the build is never more than $999, then $99 a month for Care, hosting included, the domain is in your name, and if you leave I hand you the whole site, free. From Hibu's own pages, read on 21 October 2026.

01

The price

Hibu's pricing page doesn't give a number. It says “Request custom pricing.”

Mine is on the homepage: never more than $999 to build, half to start and half at launch. Then $99 a month for Care, hosting included, $9 less every year until it's free from year twelve, for my first 99 clients. Care is required while I host your site, because your hosting is part of it, and there's no minimum term.

02

Who owns it

Hibu's general terms say: “We are the sole owners of, or we otherwise have a legal right to use, all Intellectual Property Rights in the Services.” And if Hibu supplies your domain, “The Domain Name we provide you for your website will be registered to us.” Hibu says it will help you transfer it if you ask.

With me, you buy the domain in your own name, on your own card. Your words, photos and enquiries are yours, and once the build is paid, the design and code are yours too.

03

Leaving

Hibu's terms: if you pay for the design monthly, “the term of this Service will be 12 months,” and leaving before then can cost $99 to $449, depending on the package. After you cancel, Hibu is “not responsible for storing Your Data or Your Content.”

With me there's no minimum term. Give me 30 days' notice and the site comes off my servers, and I hand you a full copy of it, free. It's custom code, so running it somewhere else means a developer setting it up. I keep it online until you have it.

To be fair to Hibu

Hibu also sells display, search and social media advertising alongside the website. I build and run your website and your Google Business Profile, and that's all. If you want one company for all of your advertising, Hibu does things I don't.

Website Care is $99 a month for as long as the site is live with Ninewave. It is what keeps the site hosted, secure and updated, so it is not optional. No minimum term: end it with 30 days' notice, the site comes off our hosting and you get a full export, free.
