The short answer
Wix is cheaper: its Core plan is $29 a month billed yearly, and you build the site yourself with its AI and editor. With Ninewave I build it, I make any change within 24 hours on business days, and if you leave you take the whole site. Wix says its sites must be hosted on Wix's servers. Read on 21 October 2026.
| What | Ninewave | Wix |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Never more than $999. Half to start, half at launch. Then $99 a month for Care, hosting included, $9 less every year, free from year twelve (first 99 clients) | $17 to $159 a month, billed yearly. Core is $29 |
| Who builds it | I do | You do, with its AI and editor |
| Taking the site with you | Yes, the whole site, free | No. Wix sites “must be hosted and operated on Wix's servers” |
01
Who builds it
Wix's AI writes a first draft, and then you finish it: the words, the photos, the booking, the updates, with its editor or its AI. A lot of owners do that well.
With me, I build it for your business, and when something needs to change you call me. Any change is made within 24 hours on business days, and a full redesign is included whenever you ask.
02
The price, honestly
Wix is cheaper than I am. Its plans run $17 to $159 a month billed yearly, and Core, the one most small businesses look at, is $29.
Mine is never more than $999 to build. Then $99 a month for hosting and care, which is what keeps the site online and covers every change, $9 less every year for my first 99 clients. What you pay me for is never having to touch it.
03
Leaving
Wix's help center: Wix sites “must be hosted and operated on Wix's servers,” and to move one, “You will need to recreate the site on the new platform manually.”
My sites are ordinary code. If you leave, the site comes off my servers and I hand you a full copy, free, to put on any host you like.
To be fair to Wix
Wix gives you more control over your own SEO settings than most builders, and you can change your site at midnight without asking anyone. If you enjoy doing it yourself, it's a good tool.
Already on Wix?
Because a Wix site can't be exported, moving off means rebuilding it. That's the same price as any build. Here's how a move works.
